Hazel Sky

Happiness is a choice that requires effort at times

Hazel Sky is a 3d adventure game of a young boy who wants, or feel compelled, to become an engineer, to do so he must pass some tests, will he achieve his goal? or will someone change his mind?

Island
We are set in a trial

So, what is the story about?

Shane is a young boy from a family of engineers, who must pass a series of tests and return to their homeland (actually a floating island) in triumph. At the same time we observe the story of a mysterious girl who by means of a radio can communicate with the protagonist, she also claims to be passing the tests, but who is she really? is her goal aligned with ours?

Also during our tests we can find notes and books, enriching the knowledge of this world and the hardness of this trial and a set of radios, narrating an event happening at the same time we are on the island.

Cult
We will discover that there are more things happening

So, what is the gameplay?

The game is third - person adventure game that focuses in puzzles and fixing some machines, but  movement feels stiff, interacting with some items feels awkard. Unlike the former, during the adventure we can also swim, climb and slide, this type of actions are implemented better and there's some platforming from time to time which makes the adventure entertaining.

Engineering
We solve puzzles mainly with engineering
Guitar
Threre's more things we can do

Is it recommended?

Maybe?, Hazel Sky has an interesting story and the note, books and radios adds a lot to the world-building, but gameplay wise is lacking, still, you won't find bugs so it's not frustrating in that regard, you can complete the game in 3 hours.

Escaping
An ambitius story
Score 7 out of 10

Mostly walking simulator with some platforming

An interesting setting with good visuals and soundtrack

PROS / CONS
