Evan's Remains

The end justifies the means?

Evan's Remains is a puzzle platforming game where we control a mysterious girl on an equally mysterious island. We will make our way through solving puzzles and meeting new characters in search of Evan, or what remains of him.

Start

So our character, Dysis, is sent specifically to find Evan, a child genius, on an enigmatic island with strange buildings and monoliths. She soon meets a busy boy with whom she will continue her search together. As we progress, we will see cutscenes involving our new companion and learn more about their motivations and personality.

The most elaborate part of the game, which begins with a simple errand, becomes increasingly complex without becoming convoluted, with the mysticism of the island and how its architecture (the background) changes with a logic within the game.

Flashbacks of our friend

Since the game focuses mainly on the story, for better or worse, the gameplay is quite simple. As we progress, we will find an area with a pillar that we must overcome using tiles, which can have different characteristics—disappearing when used, teleporting you, or making you jump higher, etc.

Honestly, the puzzles are not difficult, It can be done with some trial and error, and you can even skip them (with a logic within the story).

Not as hard as it seems

Overall Evan's Remain is an interesting game, strong in the narrative and visuals, but simple puzzles and really short. You can try it out for a weekend experience since its cheap and will take you 2 hours to complete, 100% included.

A thanks from the devs!

A mix of platforming with puzzles, but not very elaborate.

Beautiful in both cases.
