Yes, Your Grace

A heartfelt medieval kingdom drama where every decision feels personal

I had a great time with Yes, Your Grace, the gorgeous pixel art plus the atmospheric soundtrack, they just kind of grabbed me right away. The emotional storytelling also helped pull me into the whole role of a king, trying to find some kind of balance between what my kingdom needed and the well being of my family. Managing limited resources, taking in petitions from my subjects and then having to make difficult moral calls each week felt surprisingly engaging, like it was always moving.

That said, where the game kinda fell short for me was in how much my choices actually mattered. Sure, my decisions changed a few conversations, relationships and some smaller outcomes, but the big story beats stayed mostly the same. It could have been better if the game provided more different paths, and with different outcomes, especially since the game has a choices matter tag, but oh well.

Nevertheless, the characters are memorable and the narrative compelling enough that I stayed invested until the very end. I just wouldn't really recommend it if you're going in expecting a deep kingdom management simulator, or some super reactive story. Instead, think of it as a well written interactive narrative with light management stuff, and it ends up delivering a solid experience.
