Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Enhanced Edition

Epic fantasy RPG with deep choices, kingdom-building, and challenging combat.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Enhanced Plus Edition Review

As a passionate RPG player who is into deep role-playing, I really don’t know what to think about Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Enhanced Edition. The game has a lot of character customization options, an engaging storyline and a vast world to explore. But at the same time, it also has a bad design choices that could frustrate most gamers. I would rate it 7.5 out of 10.

Story & Roleplaying (8/10):
The game tells a great story with characters you won't forget and choices that matter. I love how what you decide changes the story, affecting if your friends stick with you and what happens to the kingdom. Making your character is awesome—there are lots of classes and ways to change things, so I could make the hero I wanted. The story is interesting, with politics, tough choices, and weird side missions. It's a game that makes role-playing worth it, and I was really into the world and its characters.

Gameplay & Combat (7/10):
The fights can be very different and depending on the situation they can feel either very good or very hard and annoying. Sometimes enemies can be quite powerful to the point where it may seem unfair if you do not grind the same level, or your party is not set up well. The game is challenging at times, maybe too much so, unless you lower the difficulty level. The game follows Pathfinder rules which are intricate and may discourage newcomers but will surely be appreciated by the veterans for the numerous options. I would rate the combat around 6.5 because it can be good but at the same time hard and clumsy.

Customization & Freedom (9/10):
This is where the game is great. You can change your character in so many ways. Want to be a sneaky bard or a strong sword saint? You can. You can also control your kingdom, which can be boring but gives you freedom. You can build stuff, make choices, and see your power grow, if you like that. It makes the game deeper and worth playing again, even if some parts get old.

Bugs & Technical Issues (4/10):
This is where the game fails. I found many problems, like enemies flying away or the game crashing. Some problems stop you from playing, so I had to reload or skip missions. I suggest using mods like Bag of Tricks, which helps to correct a lot of the problems—this greatly enhances the performance and comfort of the game. Without mods, problems can ruin the game, which is too bad because it could be great.

Overall Experience (7.5/10):
Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Enhanced Edition is good but has issues. If you like changing things, stories, and don’t mind problems, this game is a good time. Just get ready to change settings, use mods, and be patient with problems. When it works, it’s a time you will not forget in a cool world. Even with its issues, I think RPG fans who try hard will like it.

Score 7.5-orig out of 10
