"Blanc" Review

Graphics & Art Style: 9/10
The art style is quite nice and is able to evoke a lovely soft and atmospheric feel. Besides, it also makes the world very pleasant to explore. The cutest animals are rendered here and the attracting habitats are done in such a way that they lure ever deeper into the world of the game.

Sound & Atmosphere: 8/10
The sound design is not too intrusive but still has a great effect, the emotional tone is more pronounced. The atmosphere is very engaging and quite effective, it takes you to the story part with no narration needed.

Gameplay & Puzzles: 5/10
You don’t get a lot of gameplay. Most of the gameplay is directing the animals on some light platforming and animation, and almost no puzzles or tasks for the user to do while playing. This feels more like a story with guided play than an interactive experience.

Story & Engagement: 6/10
The plot is very brief but at the same time very moving it is mainly about the friendship and trust between the characters. Unfortunately, it is quite short and simple which can lead the players to feel wanting for more profoundness.

Overall Experience:
"Blanc" is an awesome art and appealing emotions game, however, it has the drawbacks of the same things that are not the very best in terms of gameplay variety and challenge. It is a wonderful, peaceful experience ideal for a quick and gentle getaway; however, those who want stimulating puzzles or gameplay mechanics may feel disappointed.

Would I recommend?
Indeed, if you are an art lover, atmosphere, and emotional storytelling but don’t want to be very deep in gameplay.
