This one is a 3rd person shooter. Sniper Elite is a quite known franchise. It mostly known for it's slow motion cinematic shot of your bullet going through enemy's balls. Or some other vital organ. It is fun game that would provide you with several good hours of entertainment. The zombie series first it came in episodes and for some time I didn't know there were more episodes. That is because I dropped it on Occult General boss when I first played it. Years later I saw whole trilogy here, redeemed it and decided to finish first episode before going for the trilogy.
First thing first. The plot is during Reich's final moment uncle Adolf decided instead of ingesting cyanide pill to call Ahnenerbe and ask them how the zombie emergency plan is going. But first he shot his generals then he took the artifact and activated it. It summoned dark energy from hell that reanimated all the dead Reich's soldiers and made them rend Europe. That's where our guys comes in. We are 4 elite snipers from different countries and we are here to stop the dead and send them back into the hell pit they came from also to release their souls from the eternal suffering. So we have a dude and gals from from USA, USSR, Germany, France and UK.
Here is the list of our soldiers.
Karl Fairburne: He's OSS he used to be a "rear rat" but had to addapt.
Dr. Efram Schweige: He's a German academic who avoided conscription by helping occult scientist to do their research. Now he regrets it and want to atone for his sins.
Beth Coleman: She is a painter, what a coincidence. But she had to switch her art craft for zombie killing craft.
Marie Chevalier:She is a French resistance fighterspecializing in sabotage. She wants to kill Hitler (again) badly.
Boris Medvedev: Veteran of Red Army, my personal favorite. Who was nearly punished for several cases of insubordination.He wears Ushanka.
Herman Wolff: Werchmat capitan who didn't like politics and wasn't big fan of the furher, but he still did what he was ordered to protect his family.
Anya Bochkareva: She's student who is also into sport shooting. She joined the army as soon as WW2 started.
Hanna Schulz: German orphan, her family got killed so she found the man who executed them, killed him and stole his uniform.
There are 3 episodes (duh) those are: The Berlin Horror, Back to Berlin, Beyond Berlin.In first we escaping Berlin like it's the Raccoon city. In the Second episode we realize that zombie aren't seems to shrink in their numbers. In the 3rd we return to Berlin right into the Fuhrer's bunker. Each episode about 8-9 hours long. Also I'd like to sat that since it is a zombie shooter the accent went from a stealthy approach and target elimination to just "SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT". I quite liked it to be honest. More fun than original Sniper Elite IMO.
Anyway let's get to the main dish which consists of gameplay, arsenal and enemies. Gameplay: Since we are not bothered with being stealthy and discreet we can be as noisy as we want. But still our main gun is a sniper rifle and only three of the rifles can shoot semi-automatically. So we have to strategically thin our enemies out by constantly stepping back. But in case you want to spray and pray there are ways to do it. Our main goal is usually go from point A to point B and kill all the enemies while you at it. Or to kill a boss enemy or to press some switches, you know the drill.
Arsenal:Ah the toys. We have 3 categories of weapons and 1 for utility.
First we have sniper rifles. There are totally 9 of them. 2 German, 2 Russian, 1 British, 1 Japanese and 3 American. Let's Start with semi automatic ones. Gewehr 43 good zoom, good fire rate good ammo capacity, bad fire power. If you play on normal and higher that means your bullet won't travel as far as other rifles and it will be also affected by the wind.
SVT-40 okay zoom, very good ammo capacity, bad recoil, good rate of fire. I personally used it the most, good for most situations where power of the bullet is not the concern. That means when you have to deal with an uber soldier you can switch for some high power rifle.
Karabiner 98k good zoom, good power, bad fire rate, bad ammo capacity.
Lee Einfield MKIII Okay zoom, very good ammo capacity, bad power, okay fire rate.
M1 carbine: bad Zoom, okay fire power, best ammo capacity, okay fire rate. My least favorite rifle.
Type 99 very good zoom, bad ammo capacity, bad rate of fire, very good fire power.
M1D Garand okay zoom, good ammo capacity, good rate of fire, bad fire power.
Springfield M1903 good zoom, Very good fire power, bad ammo capacity, bad rate of fire.
Mosin Nagant good zoom, Very good fire power, bad ammo capacity, bad fire rate.
Secondary guns. Used to be SMG only category but in later episodes a shotgun and panzefaust were added.
12 Gauge Shotgun. 6 in chamber, pump action, best works in close quarters.
Preacher probably th best shotgun rifle in the game and probably the most powerful fun in
the game.The downside is it double barrel and yu can't carry big amount of ammo for it.
Blyskawica: high power, low accuracy sub machine gun.
MP40 while accuracy sucks
the ammo capacity and rate of fire is very good.
MP 44 hit further and more accurate but less ammo and fire power.PPSh 41 very good ammo capacity and rate of fire, high recoil and low accuracy.
Thompsn M1 good accuracy good fire power, good rate of fire, low ammo capacity.
PanzerFaust, vert low on rockets but damage is insane.
Pistols: M1911 low ammo capacity, low rate of fire, good accuracy, good fire power.
Luger P08, my personal favorite gun. Good rate of Fire, good accuracy, low ammo
capacity, low damage.
Tulsky Tokarev or TT 33, okay fire power, okay ammo capacity, good accuracy, good rate of fire.
Webly MK1 Second favorite gun. Very good fire power, good accuracy, bad fire rate bad ammo capacity.
Utility. There are mostly mines here. the main purpose of them to set a trap for a big horde of enemies. So you have tripwire mines, land mines, dynamites and throw
grenades.
Enemies: Regular grunts that will try to bite or attack you with their weapons, some of them still carry and use a gun.
Kamikazees/shahid upon seeing you will rise his grenade and sprint towards you.
Sniper. Those jump from roof to roof in order to flank you, they often work in pairs.
Uber Soldier, big mofos that carry MG34 or a chainsaw required a lot of damage to kill. Summoners. Those feckers will hide like a sniper and then will resurrect or summon regular grunts.
Skeletons. Same as grunts but can run and are slightly more annoying to kill.
Flying skulls, you will mostly see them in the Occult general fight. You have to kill them in order to neutralize General's shield.
Okay I said more than enough. The rest is there for you to discover. Just know there are co-op mode and Horde mode. I had a lot of fun playing it so I definitely recommend it. Third episode even have the side quests
